Crimson Dusk - sci-fi wargames rules

Tabletop wargames rules for skirmish to platoon level games in a Sci-fi, near future or post apocalyptic setting.

Crimson Dusk Games

The sun sets on the dead and dying casting a crimson glow to the scene. The victors pick their way through the carnage, the odd shot here and there giving the last rites rites of the fallen soldier. The sun finally sets, Crimson Dusk has gone.

Crimson Dusk aims to create a fun and exciting tabletop game, using model soldiers to represent your armies you can clash against your friends to win mastery of the tabletop. The project is open ended to give as much freedom to you the players as possible.

Where will you go with your games? To the stars of the galaxy battling on some unknown moon as rival systems settle their differences? To the blasted wastes of a post apocalyptic world where only the strongest survive? To the third world war, where USA invades China, and the Arab Union retaliates by invading Europe? Or will you create your own setting, and let your imagination run free?  These are some of options left to you by Crimson Dusk and Crimson Dust.

What games are there?

Crimson Dusk aims to produce a tabletop miniatures game that allows you to take whatever models you have in your collection, in any scale and use them in wargames. Currently we have two rules sets, each very different:

Crimson Dust - focuses on small scale skirmishes, with between a single figure and perhaps 15 miniatures to each side. It is based on a D6 (six sided dice) system, where a player rolls multiple dice to decide to effectivity combat and other tasks. The rules contain full rules for combat including pyschic powers and Hackers and a whole host of sci-fi technology. A playtest version is currently available from the Crimson Dust page.

Crimson Dusk - is the first wargames rules produced, work on it has currently stopped as work on Crimson Dust has taken over. It is still available for use though. It is a game designed for platoon level games of around 15-30 miniatures a side. It is based on a simple D10 (ten sided dice) system, with few complex modifiers. The rules also contain full listings for how to design your troops and set points cost to them so you can compete against your friends for mastery of the tabletop. And the great news is that the rules are entirely free to downlaod and share.
